Will TARS 2026 be held onsite or online?

TARS 2026 will take place onsite, in Vatra Dornei (Romania).

Authors unable to physically attend the event will be able to present their papers online.

How much is the conference fee?

Presentation

No fee for online presentation.

A maximum of 2 papers with 1 common author may be presented for 1 fee.

€50 for onsite presentation

A maximum of 2 papers with 1 common author may be presented for 1 fee.

Publication

€50 for publication

A maximum of 2 papers with 1 common author, presented in person or online, may be published for 1 fee.

€75 for silent paper publication

1 paper not presented at the conference may be published for 1 fee.

Participation

€50/person for onsite participation (authors and accompanying persons)

If I cannot come to Vatra Dornei, do I still have to pay €50?

If you present the paper online and do not want it to be published, you do not need to pay anything.

If you present the paper online and want it to be published, you need to pay €50.

If you do not present the paper at the conference but want it to be published, you need to pay €75.

If you are an onsite or online presenting author, you may present and publish a maximum of 2 papers for €50.

If you are a silent author (you do not present the paper at the conference), you may publish 1 paper for €75.

If you present the paper online, it will be published for €50.

If you do not present the paper at the conference, it will be published for €75.

What are the publication opportunities for TARS 2026?

ECS journal

▪ Best papers in English will be published in the Economy and Contemporary Society (ECS) journal, Publishing House of the Romanian Academy.

Double-blind peer review needed.

The journal is indexed in RePEc, DOAJ, Index Copernicus, and OpenAIRE.

Where is the venue of the conference?

TARS 2025 will be held at the National Agency for Mountain Areas - ANZM in Vatra Dornei (Romania). The institution is part of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Within ANZM, there is a department called CEFIDEC that can provide free accommodation for up to 50 participants.

Where can I stay in Vatra Dornei?

The Centre of Training and Innovation for Development in the Carpathians - CEFIDEC will provide free accommodation for maximum 50 people (in the order of requests).

On request, payable rooms can be booked at several guesthouses not far from the conference venue.

How do I get to Vatra Dornei?

Airplanes

There is no airport in Vatra Dornei.

The nearest airport is in Suceava, but it has few international routes.

The alternative is the airport in Cluj-Napoca.

There are round-trip bus routes operated by Șincarom from Cluj-Napoca airport to Vatra Dornei.

Another option is the airport in Bucharest.

Taxis

From Suceava or Cluj-Napoca to Vatra Dornei, you can hire a taxi.

The distance between Suceava airport and CEFIDEC in Vatra Dornei (where participants are accommodated) is between 125 km and 154 km, depending on the chosen route. The distance between Cluj-Napoca airport and CEFIDEC is between 185 km and 191 km.

The taxi fare should not exceed 4.00 RON (approx. 0.80 euros)/km.
